60s mod (in my Lulus.com dress)

dress-c/o Lulus.com, sparkly top- J.Crew, hat- Vintage, knee high boots- old Steve Madden, sunglasses- Prada, gloves- H&M

I am just swooning over this mod 60s inspired dress from lulus.com!
This dress, 'the division games striped shirt dress' is just amazing--everything from the bold stripes to the big lapel to the contrasting stripe pocket--it's just so nifty!
I love graphic prints and this geometric striped dress is just perfect and seasonless-- which is always nice to have a clothing piece that can be worn all year round and styled differently for each season.
I just adore geometric shapes, pop graphics, bright colors and anything with a 60s mod flair--and this dress has all of the above!

I think 2012 is going to be absolutely awesome, don't you?
I can't wait to write down all of my goals for 2012.
I wore this outfit on Christmas Eve to our family friend's Christmas Eve party.
My sister kept commenting that I looked like a Russian Doll--which is fine with me since I am part Russian!
What was your Holiday highlight so far?  Were you on Santa's nice list?

One Million Acts of Kindness

sweater-J.Crew (similar here, here and here, leather jacket- Theory, skirt- Anthropologie, bag- Coach, shoes- Vince Camuto (similar here, and these are super cute here), sunglasses- Prada

The other day Jennie and I stumbled upon this awesome peace van which is a part of the official peace movement, one million acts of kindness.
It was pretty awesome to get inspired by Bob, who has now dedicated his life to driving around in this van to challenge everyone he meets to perform one million acts of kindness in their lives.
I even go to take some pics with his adorable dog/mascot Bogart who is the cutest Boston Terrier ever in his rainbow sweater!
So in the spirit of all this kindness, spread some love today and relish all that is good in this world

Peace & Love!

This Lulus.com dress is so ladylike and chic!

My film debut in Holiday Dresses from LuLus.com

This is my glamorous debut to the film world!!!
I am SO thrilled to share with you this video I made featuring LuLus.com dresses!!!

LuLu*s sent me four amazing dresses and I couldn't help to want to get creative and do something extra special to show them off.
Since I absolutely have the Holiday spirit right now, I instantly envisioned the concept of a Holiday inspired fashion video with a Vintage touch.
The dresses can be styled in unique ways, so I knew four little vignettes would be a fun and whimsical way to debut the dresses.
The inspiration for the video came from many things: Vintage and Retro Holiday outfits, nostalgic memories, the 50s and 60s, Woody Allen's quirkiness, old fashioned silent films and  of course the Christmas spirit.

All dresses c/o LuLus.com. Visit their site to get these amazing dresses and more here.

I couldn't have done this video with the help of the super talented Andy and Danielle.
Andrew Provost filmed, directed and edited this video.
He did an AMAZING job and I am so thankful for his creative talent.
Danielle Le Brun (my sister) helped with artistic direction during the shoot to add that extra sparkle.

We had so much fun making this video together!!!

Stay tuned for outfit posts in these dresses and more Holiday styling tips.

Keep it Cozy

scarf- Ann Taylor Loft (similar here and here, sweater- Gap , leather jacket- Theory, cord leggings - Gap, heels- Vince Camuto, sunnies - Crossroads Trading Co, gloves- H&M (an awesome pair of gloves here), bag-Urban Outfitters

Trying to stay cozy in warm layers as it has been freeeeezing in San Francisco lately.
I pretty much can't take off my Theory leather jacket these days.
My new favorite accessory are these H&M gloves which add a great city chic element to any outfit and are also incredibly functional to keep warm!

I wanted to share a couple fun things with you.
I have been featured in the NY Times Street Style section the past couple weeks, so check it out here, here and here.
And get to know me a bit more over at Smashion.com where they interviewed me here.

and P.S. I have a very exciting post to share with you this week!

She don't look back

(top- J.Crew, skirt - Zara (old) this one is cute here, shoes- Crossroads Trading Co, scarf- Vintage (Alameda Fair for $1), belt- Vintage Moschino via Crossroads, bracelet- J.Crew similar here, sunglasses- Prada, bag- Coach, earrings- Kate Spade, ring- old Banana Republic, watch -Michael Kors)
photos by my brother David

Our family friend had her art gallery opening at a Wine Bar in Half Moon Bay.
This scarf is definitely the perfect 'artsy' piece to pull out for an event like an art opening. Love the POP Art feel of the scarf with the bright colors and shapes bordered in the black contrast.
Totally scored these awesome white heels and Vintage Moschino belt at the Crossroads Holiday party this past weekend that I blogged about here.
Pairing bright colors back to black always feels fresh and fun to me and gives a very 60s feel to the outfit.
I am sure making use of this sparkly J.Crew top last seen here and here. So glad I got this sparkly number which has proven to be extremely versatile for this Holiday season.  It's on sale here!

Sections of lyrics from the great Bob Dylan song, 'She belongs to me'
She's got everything she needs
She's an artist she don't look back
She's can take the dark out of the night time
And paint the daytime black

She wears an Egyptian red ring
It sparkles before she speaks
She's a hypnotist collector
You are a a walking antique
