Print on Print on Pink

zig zag top- Missoni for Target, floral top- Madewell, jeans- Gap, shoes-Halogen, hat- Vintage, sunglasses- Prada, cuffs-Forever 21, belt- J.Crew, necklace- Bloomingdales

I have been digging the mixed print trend.
Mixing and layering prints or textures creates a more interesting and fun outfit.
Since both tops were in black and white, the zig zag top and floral print top complemented each other instead of distracting too much.
To give the outfit a punch I brightened up the black/white tops with my pink Gap legging jeans.
I love to mix and match--it makes getting dressed so much more fun!
Do you like mixing prints too?

Blue Jean Baby

top- Anna Sui via Crossroads Trading Co., jeans- Gap, sunglasses- Super, hat- Forever 21, bag- Louis Vuitton, purple necklace-Chick-A-Boom! Vintage, stone necklace- Mira Mira in SF, bracelet- Old Banana Republic, ring- Free People, shoes-old BCBG

So stoked I scored this Ana Sui top from Crossroads at their Holiday party--I love the print, colors and fit.
Pairing my bright blue Gap jeans with this top in cool tones was so complementary and created a nice bold, yet casual look.
This is the first of what I'm going to call my 'San Francisco' series.
There are so many gorgeous Landmarks in this charming little city and I am going to incorporate the locations more into my posts so everyone who is not from San Francisco can learn a little bit about this city that is so easy to leave your heart in.
These photos were taken with a lovely view of the famous Transamerica Pyramid building, which is the tallest skyscraper in San Francisco.  Pretty cool that when the building was built back in 1972 it was one of the top 5 tallest buildings in the world.

Let's get some 'Tiny Dancer' lyric inspiration going... from the man himself Elton John...
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

black on BLACK

sweater-H&M, leather jacket-Theory, boots-hand me down from mom, necklace-Banana Republic, stone necklace-Mira Mira store in the Mission SF, beanie-borrowed from my sister

Took these pics while strolling around Berkeley.
We shopped around, got a delicious lunch, took a latte break and ended the day with home made ice cream at a local shop.
Love how much foliage is around the suburban part of Berkeley and how an active railroad can be found steps away.
Black on Black feels so good.  It’s so clean and edgy, and in my opinion makes a statement filled with attitude.  For a girl who loves color and wild prints, it is sometimes nice to be draped in all black for a casual vibe.  I love this H&M sweater—the fit is interesting with the high/low silhouette and the yarn is this awesome waxed yarn that gives the sweater a more urban and grunge feel.

I L-O-V-E this skirt sooo much!
This is my new favorite silhouette right now--the mini circle skirt.
I love how flirty the shape of this skirt is and how it is perfect for twirling around in.
You must go get this skirt at H&M and begin twirling around in it immediately--it will make you so happy!

ritzy glitzy

dress- Forever 21, shoes- Vince Camuto, tights- Calvin Klein, necklace- J.Crew

Can you believe this awesome sparkly dress is from Forever 21 and was ONLY $24?
Paying to park for 2 hours in San Francisco costs more than this dress!
That is what is awesome about some trends and fashion pieces--that some things don't have to be expensive to look great.
This sequin dress is the perfect example-- it fits and looks just like so many other sequin dresses out there that are SO over priced.

I can't help to think of the Billy Joel song 'Piano Man' with the piano in these photos.
The lyrics to this song are SO good and it's the best karaoke song! ...
It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin

He says, "Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."

la la la, di da da
La la, di di da da dum

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us all feelin' alright

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessman slowly gets stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone

XO!

cool color, warm sun

This was a cozy/simple outfit I wore to work... and was lucky to take a break from work to quickly snap these photos with Jennie.
I love the contrast of the cool tones in the outfit and the beaming warm, glowing sunshine.
This scarf is so cozy and fun- I love the colors in it and the Aztec-fair aisle-polka dot pattern.
Hope you all are keeping cozy this chilly winter!

Strike a Pose

dress- 80s Vintage Chick-A Boom! Vintage, belt- 80s Vintage (mom's hand me down), shoes- Charles David, gloves- H&M, necklace- Bloomingdales

Strike. A. Pose.
How awesome is this 80s Vintage dress?
I love the crazy cups, shape of the dress and the studded detail around the neckline.
I always seem to find myself falling in love with Vintage treasures from the
 80 because they are...wild/crazy/sexy/cool.

Let's do 80s right and go down memory lane with some Madonna lyrics...

Ladies with an attitude
Fella's that were in the mood
Don't just stand there, let's get to it
Strike a pose, there's nothing to it

Lady in Red

- bebe, heels- Vince Camuto, lace gloves- Party City, earrings- Nordstrom

Photos by Elliott Alexander

This is the sexy dress I wore on New Year's Eve!
I thought it would be fun to stand out in red on New Year's Eve knowing everyone else would be resorting to black.
And boy was I right.
I think I was one of the only ones in red at the whole party and one of a handful who wore a color other than black.
I can't resist any excuse to be festive, so wearing a top hat and black lace gloves seemed fitting for the occasion and to make the outfit more fun and less serious.
I adore the heart shaped neckline of this dress, the heavy satin and the curve hugging fit!
I got curves and I am not afraid to show it!
This dress has such a Pin Up and Vintage  feel to me--and I love Vintage Pin Ups so I definitely feel like I scored when I found this dress.
