Fortunes and Spells

This Vintage dress was a steal at only $15!-- I love the ruffle at the sleeves and hem.
I styled the dress to be more funky inspired by Gypsy's and Fortune Tellers than super polished, sweet and Vintage--which is the natural way to go with this dress.
This is my favorite set of photos by Lydia--they are so magical.

Polished

In the middle of taking these photos Lydia told me I looked like a Mom.
I said, 'whaaaaaaat'?
She meant I looked like a 1950's Mom from Mad Men where I smoke cigarettes behind the husband's back and drink whiskey with my cereal.
After she clarified I then like that I look like a 'Mom'.
Some ladies (especially those from Mad Men) sure do look polished on the outside, but have such dark secrets underneath.
I personally love this sort of look--classic, feminine and sexy.
Deceitful fashion never felt so good.

Summer, please don't go

Photos by Lydia Hudgens.

Well, San Francisco sure has been one hell of a foggy, windy and cold Summer.
But that didn't stop me from prancing around in the sand in my Vintage swimsuit for Ms. Lydia to capture a typical San Francisco Summer day with fog and all.
Vintage swimsuits are so amazing and the Pin Up feel they have can't be replicated.
Here's to hoping for a nice warm Indian Summer in September and October.

Are you diggin' this Parisian Rocker inspired ensemble?
I felt like I stepped out of French cafĂ© with tons of attitude and sass after drinking too much coffee and listening to a really good White Stripes song while thinking about love too much.
This look is very '80s rocker chic combined with a '60s nostalgia.
I love mixing graphic prints and bold colors when they feel fresh--and this combo sort of feels like an interpretation of 80's Pop art fashion to me.
Did you know that my heritage is mainly French?
Bonjour! Au Revoir! Merci!

Flea Market

(skirt/hat-Vintage, shoes-Banana Republic, top-American Apparel, bracelet-J.Crew)
On Saturday we went to the Alamo Square Flea Market where we got to enjoy hunting for lots of treasures.
I found a cool Vintage top and some fun Vintage jewels.
Cool San Francisco music man with an even cooler suitcase.
Amazing sign!  I love magical things!
The spiderweb of San Francisco's Muni lines.
How cute do my friend Gina's leopard nails look?
My sister scored this Vintage Daisy pin she is wearing--so cute!

The highlight of the weekend was what happened after the Flea Market.
We went to see the remaining members of The Doors perform.
Ray Manzerek and Robby Krieger were absolutely amazing.  It was a super epic and magical experience for me.  I transcended into my mom as a flower child in the 60's.
The Doors are so amazing as it is, but to experience the music live was unforgettable.

Make Love Not War

I adore this 60's Vintage top--the colors are so fun for Summer yet perfect to transition into Fall.  I will definitely be pairing this top with some brown corduroy pants this fall and dark denim high rise jeans.
But since we are still in Summer I couldn't help to style the top to be even more festive and bright with my green H&M skirt.  Summer in San Francisco has consisted of lots of fog, wind and freezing cold nights.  Boo for that.  Can't wait to get cozy in lots of layers and textures for Fall.

Gypsy Eyes

(pants-Madewell, top/bag/sunglasses/necklace-Vintage,shoes-Nine West).

All photos by the photography superstar Lydia Hudgens.

I love these Madewell pants--they are so funky fresh with the major wide-leg flare!
I was totally feeling the 70's vibe wearing these super wide leg pants and flower power top with the the larger-than-necessary collar.
Here's to kickin' back on these last days of Summer.
Now go listen to Jimi Hendrix 'Gypsy Eyes'.

Bohemian Child

I am obsessed with this Vintage, velvet, crazy Aztec pattern skirt.  I love a statement piece like this skirt that is so fun and cheerful to wear.  It has been a great Summer piece for going to bars and concerts.  I love the colors and pattern--so alarmingly bright, bold and unique.
In fact, I feel like a male Peacock when I wear it.

Juxtaposition

(dress-LF, hat/belt-Vintage,shoes-Halogen)

These photos were taken by the lovely and super talented Lydia Hudgens.

This dress from LF is a nice juxtaposition with the edgy leather corset top and the flowy, romantic chiffon bottom.  I love a good contradiction, and this dress has a bad-ass rock n roll vibe mixed with a romantic quality.  Perfect when you want to be all things at once--which I always do!
