On the Road

These photos were taken at one of our favorite beaches on the road through Half Moon Bay.
I nicknamed this spot 'Mermaid Cove' b/c it looks like a place mystical Mermaids would swim through the rock crevices to comb their pretty red hair with seashells.
 I adore this knit floral dress from Urban, and I especially love the peacock shape with the length in the back and shorter hemline in the front--perfect for petite folks like Moi to participate in the maxi trend without getting 'lost' in the length.

 I am reading On the Road by Jack Kerouac.
So far I love the book-- especially the fast paced and witty rhythm and lengthy sentences that get you all up inside of Jack’s crazy and addictive mind.

My absolute favorite part of the book is so far is:
“The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”

Sea Breeze

These pictures are from a day we spent beach-hopping along the coast in
Half Moon Bay. 
Half Moon Bay is one of my favorite places to visit--it is absolutely beautiful and invigorating. 
We couldn't resist stopping along the road to frolic in the mustard fields as we drove from beach to beach.
 I absolutely love when the mustard fields bloom this time of year.
 The golden yellow hue is just refreshingly lovely.
 
The mustard field gave a nice 60’s vibe serving as the background for my BCBG knit color blocked dress.
I have made so much use out of this dress as it can be dressed up or down, and it is so comfortable which makes it very versatile.
For work I would wear it with black tights and heels, but for our mini road trip to Half Moon Bay it was perfectly comfy to go beach-hopping!

Dear Yosemite, I love you.

Yosemite in the winter is one of the most magical places to visit.
The snow that covers Yosemite’s majestic landscape creates a peaceful feeling -everything seems calm in the snow.
I had a blast visiting Yosemite with my boyfriend, sister and brother –it was the best way to ring in the new year. 
I always come back inspired and relaxed.

Simple Mood

Took these photos in a little town near Yosemite.
The last two photos my brother took with his camera with real black and white film, which adds such a cool mood you don't get to see enough of anymore with all the digital photography. 
Oh, how this small town can create such a simple mood on a lazy rainy day.
I always score special vintage finds at the antique stores on this street, and I actually got the hat I'm wearing this post in this town.

The Cactus King

On the road to Yosemite we always make a stop at Poot's Cactus Nursery where Mr. Poot himself is always there tending to his spectacular cactus collection.  He has been collecting and maintaining this collection of cacti from around the world for over 50 years, and it is a sight to be seen!
Poot, you never fail to amaze us! 
 I especially love his latest creation-the mickey mouse with hearts in the ears cactus sculpture!
