Happy Valentine's Day!

I made this necklace in spirit of the Queen of Hearts--and created hearts out of cards.  

I was going to wear my super high Jeffrey Campbell Lita's, but embraced being super comfortable in my Chucky T's--which also allowed me to tip toe around swans, and frolic through the Palace of Fine Arts as though I was the Queen of the castle!

I love the vintage pink flower pin that is pinned to the lace handle of the bouquet!

Pink and black is always such a sweet and retro combination.  Couldn't resist wearing a ballerina bun to play off the ballerina pink dress and black tights.  

This would make a pretty cute Bridesmaid outfit for a wedding around Valentine's Day in the daytime!

Vintage Valentine

I pretty much died when I found out this vintage dress was even more retro than I thought---a gem from the 1950's! 

The dress is from Chick-A-Boom Vintage in Petaluma.

This vintage 1950's dress is the perfect Valentine's Day date dress. 

 I fell in love with the coral color of this dress and that it was completely made out of beautiful vintage lace.

My heart melts for vintage, and especially vintage lace. 

Spring has Sprung

Spring has Sprung my friends.
No better way to get into the Spring and Valentine's spirit other than to surround yourself with flowers! 

Fresh off the Vine

Spent the weekend at my boyfriend's parent's house.

They pretty much have this Vineyard in their backyard, as it is across the street from their house.

We took advantage of the vineyard and went on a walk through it before we headed out to a fun-filled night of burgers and disco bowling. 

We also went on the most amazing 3 hour bike ride through vineyards and wineries where we were refreshed by the crisp (and clean) air that you don't seem to get in the city.

We saw so many animals along the way which made me so happy-- miniature ponies, chickens, cows and horses.

This skirt's pattern and colors ended up being a nice compliment to the bare grape vines and leaves that sprinkled the ground.  
The awesome White Stripes song "Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground" kept popping into my head.

Sea Breeze

These pictures are from a day we spent beach-hopping along the coast in

Half Moon Bay. 

Half Moon Bay is one of my favorite places to visit--it is absolutely beautiful and invigorating. 

We couldn't resist stopping along the road to frolic in the mustard fields as we drove from beach to beach.

 I absolutely love when the mustard fields bloom this time of year.

 The golden yellow hue is just refreshingly lovely.

 

The mustard field gave a nice 60’s vibe serving as the background for my BCBG knit color blocked dress.

I have made so much use out of this dress as it can be dressed up or down, and it is so comfortable which makes it very versatile.
For work I would wear it with black tights and heels, but for our mini road trip to Half Moon Bay it was perfectly comfy to go beach-hopping!

I found the most amazing vintage shop in Petaluma called Chick-A-Boom Vintage, and I got this 80's vintage sweater there. 

 I love the details on it--the fringe beads on the edge of the collar and the sequined and beaded Navajo inspired pattern on the collar just makes me smitten.

Sometimes I just die over Vintage pieces. 

 I got this dress on super sale at UO, and thought it created a nice 80's Rocker-Goth vibe with the sweater and hat.

This skirt is so awesome!

 I love how it is long, but the majority of it is sheer creating an edgy sexy look for a long skirt. 

This outfit was fun to wear b/c I felt like I was wearing everything but the kitchen sink.

We just so happened to stumble upon this awesome bike yard which ended up being the perfect backdrop.
